JIM “The Skull Artist”

jim-skull

Jim creates elaboarate skulls out of rope and other various materials.  There isn’t much information about the artist online but definitely check out his gallery & there is a brief interview with Jim over at  Build/Make/Craft/Bake.

Pete Butta – Best of Gucci Mane

gucci-mane

The guys over at Crossfaded Bacon just released another mix in their 1st & 15th (Pretty Much) Mix Series. For Volume 20 they got Pete Butta to put together a “best of” mixtape of Gucci Mane. This is probably the best Gucci mixtape I’ve come across, with the exception of DJ EV’s Gucci Land – they generally have way too much bullshit talking over them and mediocre mixing. Tracklisting & download link after the jump.

Cold Chillin’ T-shirts

cold-chillin

Stones Throw Records has teamed up with Biz Markie & photographer George DuBose to release a series of exclusive Cold Chillin’ t-shirts. Cold Chillin’ was a quality label during the golden-age of hip-hop. Currently these tees are available only from the Stones Throw website & I definitely need to snag that black logo tee

Brian Morris

morris

Brian Morris is an artist/illustrator from Chicago who has a fasination with skulls. I am a big fan of the clean lines & signature snake-line found on the forehead of most of his work as well as the ceramic figures & vinyl toys he customizes. He recently exhibited his work at Rotofugi in Chicago & in Issue 7 of I Want Your Skull.

Clermont Lounge

Donnis from Atlanta just did a cover of “Clermont Lounge”, the original track was done by Bubba Sparxxx w/ Killa Mike & Cool Breeze. I’ve been told on a couple occasions while in ATL we would hit this place up & usually someone near by shudders like they have seen horrible things at this old stripclub.

Paper New Era’s

new-era1

Stumbled upon these New Era concepts by Mateusz Sypien that were crafted out of paper & foam. The designs are good, but I am most impressed by the craftsmenship of the actual New Era 59Fifty. You can see more of these hat designs after the jump.

Bill McRight’s Weapons

mcright

Bill McRight is a talented illustrator out of Philidelphia who is also art director of Saturday Skateboards here in Charlotte. A while back I stumbled upon one of Bill’s other artistic talents though, making homemade shanks & weapons. I recommend you check out Flickr to see the whole set.
