Mishka just released Volume XII of their Keep Watch Mix Series mixed by Rusko.  New mix is full of grimey dubstep tracks which makes me sad I missed him while he was in Charlotte the other week! Tracklisting & download link after the jump…

loveletter

Love Letter is a project by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program which places love letters on 50 walls along the train line on Market Street in Philadelphia. I remember reading about this project when it first got started and after checking back in & seeing some more of the work I’m pretty blown away! I love the fact this project is improving these neighborhoods as well as helping shop owners & educating the youth…

Got a new house mix from Kitschworth homie A-HUF this week called “The Morning After”. I’m not usually a huge fan of house music, but this mix is more on the laid back side of things & has been on heavy rotation in the studio all week! You can stream the mix below or click here to download.

Fatoe is Gangsta!

fatoe

Fatoe (aka Mike Orduña) has been producing great work for a long time, but I’m feeling his most recent series “Gangsta” more than most of his other work. The subject matter definitely has something to do with that statement, but the execution of this series is so sick! You can purchase these as prints over at ImageKind. Check a few more shots from the series after the jump…

ransom

Cartrain, a 17-year-old graffiti artist embroiled in a feud with Damien Hirst, has been arrested after stealing pencils from the millionaire artist’s latest installation.” - Telegraph

Apparently some young graffiti artist in the UK who was jacking images from Damian Hurst for his own work became sour when they confiscated the artwork. To retalitate he stole pencils from Hirst’s exhibit  “Pharmacy” that was on display at the Tate.  He then put ransom posters up threatening to sharpen the pencils if his own artwork wasn’t returned, well played!  Read full article here
